This year marks our twelfth iteration of Aotearoa New Zealand’s premiere screen sector event, Big Screen Symposium, presented by Script to Screen. We are delighted to welcome screen practitioners from across the motu and around the world to gather as a screen community for two days of kōrero, connection and wānanga; to celebrate, be challenged, illuminated and inspired. Curated to reflect the diversity of voices, experiences and perspectives that make up our industry, this year’s programme invites us to deepen our understanding of who we are, recognise the strengths we already possess, and explore the ambitions we hold for the future of screen storytelling and storytellers from Aotearoa. We welcome an exciting cohort of local and international voices and perspectives, whose presence illustrates our strengthening kotahitanga with the global screen ecosystem.
